The proposed standard defines the envelope, handling features, station datums and identity scheme. It is an engineering proposal, not a published or independently certified industry standard.
Identify the revision. Apply the process.
Compatible stations would read the carrier identity and select the appropriate process recipe. Backward mechanical compatibility alone does not establish chemical or electrical compatibility; revision control is essential.
Build the rules in the open
